Qualcomm Snapdragon 835: The Game-Changing Processor Designed for Mobile Devices and Virtual Reality (VR)

Qualcomm made sure it won’t be left behind this year with the release of the most powerful mobile processor to date, Snapdragon 835. How powerful is this tiny processing unit? How about getting pre-orders just days after Qualcomm formally announced Snapdragon 835? What about being considered a high-end, top-on-the-line smartphone and/or mobile device if powered by Snapdragon 835.

As described on Snapdragon 835 official page, “With an advanced 10-nanometer design, the Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 835 processor can support phenomenal mobile performance. It is 35% smaller and uses 25 percent less power than previous designs, and is engineered to deliver exceptionally long battery life, lifelike VR and AR experiences, cutting-edge camera capabilities and Gigabit Class download speeds.”

Yes, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is embedded with most leading features one wants to have on ther mobile devices like high-speed connection, latest security features, higher memory support and all those things. But more importantly, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 has improved CPU, Camera and Video support.

Not sure if anyone noticed but Qualcomm is the only mobile processor to be released this year that has these features: CPU Clock Speed of up to 2.45 GHz, CPU Cores 8x Qualcomm® KryoTM 280 CPU running on a 64-bit Architecture. These features alone should make any mobile device brands to carry this processor become a competing top-of-the-line, high-end product.

But that’s not all as Qualcomm knows how much taking pictures and videos are important to end-users. This is why this processor supports up to 16MP dual camera and up to 32MP single camera and an improved Qualcomm SpectraTM 180 image sensor processor.

For HDR Video Recording, mobile devices are assured that it supports up to 4K Ultra HD video capture @ 30FPS and up to 4K Ultra HD video playback @ 60 fps. If that didn’t mean anything to you, then you probably don’t know anything about Virtual Reality (VR) technology.

“VR tracking software from technology leaders like Leap Motion and SMI has also been pre-optimized on the Snapdragon 835 VR HMD to accelerate time to development. Furthermore, the program includes pre-defined quality metrics and methods of testing, accessories and more, to help manufacturers develop and deploy mobile VR HMDs that deliver the most immersive user experiences possible with Snapdragon 835,” Qualcomm said in a separate statement.
